Background: In any surgical out-patient department, leg ulcers are one of the most often occurring occurrences. Leg ulcers can have a variety of causes, including trauma, diabetes, chronic venous insufficiency, trophic, hypertension, and more. The goal of this study is to compare the clinical effectiveness and safety of negative pressure wound care to moist gauze dressings for the treatment of foot ulcer wounds.

Results: The majority of the ulcer (45.4%) was treated with a secondary goal using VAC dressing. When compared to routine wound care, treating DFU with VAC therapy results in a higher graft take rate (p=0.05). On day 28, there was a statistically significant correlation between interventions and the location of the ulcer.

Conclusions: Unlike moist gauze dressing, which may be applied to any wound surface, vacuum dressing is only effective on select wound surfaces and cannot be used to treat wounds that expose the tendon sheath, blood vessels, bones, or aponeurosis. Continuous vacuum suction dressing requires less frequent dressing changes than moist gauze, which needs to be changed twice day to achieve the best outcomes.

What function is most directly lost when helper T-cells die?
MissTica

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

The T-cells and B-cells of the immune system are the part of specific immune response.

If the number of T-cells dies then the ability to activate B lymphocytes will also be lost as they help B-cells to secrete antibodies and macrophages to destroy the antigens.

T cells also helps in the activation of cytotoxic T-cells to kill the targeted cell which is affected by antigens.

hence, the correct answer is option A

Anemia can be caused by a diet lacking in which nutritional substances?
wel

Answer:

The best answer to the question: Anemia can be caused by a diet lacking in which nutritional substances?, would be, D: Folic acid and vitamin B12.

Explanation:

Anemia, is usually defined as a problem in the formation of red blood cells, or, erythrocites. Usually, there are a number of nutrients, such as vitamins and minerals, that play a vital role in the formation of these erythrocites. One such mineral is iron, which is why, when it is lacking in the diet, it can cause an anemia called iron-deficiency anemia. In this case, the anemia, which is either a reduced production of red-blood cells, or, cells that are incapable of carrying out their duty as oxygen-transporters, is caused by a dietary deficiency. Another form of this can be when the body itself, through an illness, is incapable of producing these cells. However, aside from iron, there are other two nutrients that are vital in the correct formation of erythrocites, and in their being efficent transporters: folic acid, also known as folate, and vitamin B12, both necessarily supplied by the diet, as the body cannot produce them.
