What does this passage say about Thomas Jefferson?

This passage shows that this man was one of those that owned the slaves in the United States. He was one of those that believed that the black man and the white man were not equal. According to the passage he saw the blacks as inferior people that have to be returned back from Africa.

Although he was against slavery, we can see that he participated in the trade because the passage says that he was known to have sold some of the slaves when he needed money.
