The appropriate way to summarize the fragment is taking the main ideas as follows: The civil war was a test for the durability of the nation where many left their lives.

What is a summary?

A summary is a type of text that is characterized by containing the main ideas of another text in a shorter length. According to the above, when we want to summarize a text, story, novel, speech, among others, we must take the main ideas and write a short text in which all of these are included.

Based on the above, an adequate summary of the Gettysburg Address should include the following main ideas:

  • Civil war
  • Nation
  • Life

So the correct way to summarize this snippet would be:

  • The civil war was a test for the durability of the nation where many gave their lives.

The summary of Gettysburg address is that President Abraham Lincoln addressed Americans at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, a place that experienced the bloodiest battle during the American civil war on the need not to allow the death of thousands of Americans to go to waste and ensure that the country remained united afterwards.

What was the Gettysburg Address.

The Gettysburg Address is a speech by the U.S. President Abraham Lincoln during the American Civil War at the dedication of the Soldiers' National Cemetery in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on November 19, 1863.

This address occurred about four and a half months after the Union armies defeated those of the Confederacy at the Battle of Gettysburg.

Which amendment guarantees a trial by jury if accused of a crime?
Alecsey [184]
The amendment which guarantees a trial by jury if you're accused of a crime is the 6th amendment.

The 6th amendment guarantees that you must have a trial by a jury of your peers. If you need any other help with what the 6th amendment offers, I recommend this website in order to further research the amendments of the constitution: https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/sixth_amendment
