May someone please explain to me how to do this in the easiest way? I don't really understand. Thanks❤
katrin [286]
Ok, so 1 is a whole number. 1/5 is a fraction of 1. So you want to subtract 1/5 from 1. The number 1 is equal to 5/5. So if you subtract 1/5 from 5/5 you are left with 4/5. You do the same with the second one, just subtract 3/5 from 5/5 to get your answer.

Find the median of the data.
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

 • 92.5

Step-by-step explanation:

The data given:

 • 93, 81, 94, 71, 89, 92, 94, 99

Put the data in the ascending order:

 • 71, 81, 89, 92, 93, 94, 94, 99

Since the data size is even, the median is the average of middle two:

 • median = (92 + 93)/2 = 92.5

Why are astrologers not considered to be scientists?
Pachacha [2.7K]
The answer is: [C]: "Astrologers do not use the scientific method."
_____________________________________________________
Note: Choice [A] is incorrect. Astrologers do use tools.
_____________________________________________________
Choice [B] is incorrect. Some astrologers do observe the universe.
_____________________________________________________
Choice [D] is incorrect. Astrologers may or may not go to college; and whether or not they do or do not is irrelevant as regard to whether to they are considered "scientists".

If ∠ABE = 100° and ∠EDC = 100°, are the two triangles, ΔABE and ΔEDC similar? If so, by what criterion?
Arturiano [62]

Answer:

No, not possible to tell that the two triangles, ΔABE and ΔEDC are similar

Step-by-step explanation:

Similarity criterion:

1. AAA similarity : two triangles are similar if all three angles in the first

triangle equal the corresponding angle in the second triangle

2. AA similarity : If two angles of one triangle are equal to the corresponding angles of the other triangle, then the two triangles are similar.

3. SSS similarity : If the corresponding sides of the two triangles are

proportional, then the two triangles are similar.

4. SAS similarity : In two triangles, if two sets of corresponding sides

are proportional and the included angles are equal then the two

triangles are similar.

Now in the two triangles ABE and EDC :

∠ABE = 100°

∠EDC = 100°

∠ABE = ∠EDC

But only one congruent angle does not not prove that the two triangles are similar.

Hence, NOTHING CAN BE SAID ABOUT THE nature of the triangle.
