Since then, I've stayed away from the sport because of a lack of support from my peers. It was a mistake to give up on volleyball and the individuals I was hanging out with at the time. Because I wanted to be like my pals, I made bad decisions and didn't do well in school as a result of my friendships with them. Because they weren't playing sports and were out making terrible mistakes, I decided to stop playing volleyball so that I could spend more time with my friend. As it turns out, that was a poor decision on my part. I could have had many more opportunities and scholarships because I was so good, but instead I chose to be a sheep and follow the wrong crowd that was making wrong decisions in the first place. I have since sworn never to hang out with my friends.
