After the Mycenaean civilization died about 1200 BCE, Ancient Greek culture thrived until Alexander the Great's death in 323 BCE. By then, Greek culture had extended beyond the Mediterranean and to India via Alexander the Great's conquests.

Ancient Greeks, one of the world's most remarkable civilizations, helped build Western civilization. It spawned advancements in philosophy, science, art, architecture, governance, and politics.
