Men and women differ in their communication styles as women are usually more sensitive than men, to the listener's non- verbal cues.

Men focus more on rank and status, while women focus on relationships. Men talk about things and facts, whereas women talk more about people, relationships and feelings.

Men's way of using language is competitive reflecting their interest in acquiring status, while women's use of language is cooperative reflecting their interest in equality and emotions.
