We can infer here that it is true that fiction is the most popular form of literature, and romantic poetry especially is said to appeal to a broader audience than the poetry of earlier eras.

We see that as time goes on, people tend to build emotional attachment to each other. The literature of the romantic era is accessible because writers tend to focus on stories that invoke the feelings of their readers.

Previously, people focused on other eras of literature. But there is a demand of fictional and romantic literature.

What is fiction?

Fiction refers to the form of writing that is carried out using imaginative stories. In other words, fiction has to do with stories borne out of imagination.

People tend to connect to things in a more emotional way. This is why why romantic literature is more appealing a large number of audience.
