Inheritance patterns cannot always be explained by Mendel's models of inheritance. If a pair of homologous chromosomes fails to

separate during meiosis I , select the choice that shows the chromosome number of the four resulting gametes with respect to the normal haploid number (n)? (A) n+1 ; n+1 ; n-1 ; n-1 (B) n+1 ; n-1 ; n ; n (C) n+1 ; n-1 ; n-1 ; n-1 (D) n+1 ; n+1 ; n ; n

The chromosome number of the four resulting gametes with respect to the normal haploid number shows <u>n + 1; n + 1; n - 1; n - 1</u> <u>(option A)</u>.

During aligning of all the homologous chromosomes, in the process of meiosis, new cells are formed.

From the total number of chromosomes one chromosome is missing , the resulting chromosomes are +1 and -1. Similarly for the second cell, resulting chromosomes would be +1 and -1.

This makes four gametes i.e. -1 and -1 and +1 and +1 respectively.

What are the target cells for the human Growth Hormone?
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

Once released into the circulation, GH binds and activates the cell-surface GHR, as well as the related prolactin receptor in target tissues such as liver, muscle, bone, and adipose tissue

Explanation:

Direct effects are the result of growth hormone binding its receptor on target cells. Fat cells (adipocytes), for example, have growth hormone receptors, and growth hormone stimulates them to break down triglyceride and supresses their ability to take up and accumulate circulating lipids.
