When a client is experiencing panic, the right course of  action that would be most appropriate for the nurse to do is to allow the Client to pace.

Panic disorder refers to an anxiety disorder where a person regularly have sudden attacks of panic or fear. It is natural for everyone to experience feelings of anxiety and panic at certain times. This forms  a natural response to stressful or dangerous situations.

When a patient who has a panic disorder is experiencing panic, the first nursing intervention should be to stay with the client while remaining calm.

  A calm presence will help to relax the client. The nurse should use short sentences to provide clear directions and then assist the client to an environment with minimal stimuli.
