Making laws that affect our daily lives is one of the key role played by the Congress within the US federal system. Conducting investigations to supervise the executive branch as well as serves as the voice of people and the states and holding hearings to inform the legislative process are also roles of the Congress. The Congress also serves as the legislative branch of the federal government. Senators and representatives are also elective by the people and the will of the people are reflected by these representatives. To remain in touch with the constituents’ views, we see that the Members of the Congress regularly check their home districts and states. Members of the congress also remain in touch with the state and local leaders.
