The 2004 earthquake in Indonesia occurred due to subduction of the indian-australian plate under the eurasian plate, creating a tsunami that killed over 220,000 people.

Most tsunamis are caused by sudden vertical movement of the ocean floor. Certain types of earthquakes, shear and normal fault earthquakes, occur at shallow depths below the seafloor and can cause very rapid seafloor movements.

As a general rule, the larger the region of displacement and hence the stronger the wave, the stronger the earthquake. In 2004, an earthquake in a subduction zone west of the Indonesian island of Sumatra triggered a significant tsunami in the Indian Ocean. The Sumatra Trench is formed when pieces of the Eurasian Plate are sunk beneath the Indian Ocean Plate there.

All these sources are renewable or inexhaustible and do not cause environment pollution. More over they do not require heavy expenditure.

CONVENTIONAL=

Conventional energy means the energy source which is obtained from fixed reserves in nature like oil, gas and coal. In other words conventional energy is also termed as non-renewable energy sources, or fossil fuels.

How petroleum and natural gas are formed?

Plz someone help me
GalinKa [24]
Algae and plants lived in shallow seas millions years ago .After dying and sinking to the seafloor, the organic material mixed with other sediments and was buried .Over millions of years under high pressure and high temperature, the remains of these organisms transformed into what we know today as fossil fuels. Coal, natural gas, and petroleum are all fossil fuels that formed under similar conditions.
