The revision which effectively used transition words to create coherence is A. Begin by heating the oil on high in a cast-iron skillet, Then, season the pork with cumin and salt.

Next, brown the pork in the skillet on all sides. After that, pour chicken broth and lime juice into a slow-cooker.

Follow up by adding the pork to the broth and the juice in the cooker. When the broth, juice, and pork are in the cooker, then put the onion, garlic, and chiles into the hot oil in the skillet.

Once the vegetables are in the skillet, sauté them. When the onion, garlic, and chiles are sautéed, transfer them to the slow-cooker that has the pork, broth, and lime juice already in it.

After the meat, the vegetables, and the liquids are in the slow-cooker, cover the cooker with the lid.

Finally, cook all of the ingredients on low until they are all tender.

Gekata [30.6K]

Answer:

D. The workman directed the drivers and us around the road construction.

Explanation:

The list of objective case pronouns includes:

me, him her, it, you, us, them.

In a sentence, they should be used as objects.

Option A uses him as a subject, which is incorrect.

Option B uses her as a subject, which is incorrect.

Option C uses him as a predicate nominative, i.e. a subject complement, which is also incorrect.

Only option D correctly uses an objective case pronoun, us, as an object.

Read this passage from "Four Freedoms Speech" by Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Marta_Voda [28]

The answer would be C. By using parallel structure, Roosevelt emphasizes the challenge the country faces in transitioning from peacetime to wartime.

The literary device parallelism is employed to emphasize how hard it is prepare for a wartime scenario. Parallelism is used mostly to provide emphasis in many moving passages and is efficient when trying to persuade or convince one's audience.

Example:

It was dark because a new era was upon the nation. It was dark because change was coming. It was dark because the struggle had only begun.

In this example, repeating the phrase "It was dark" places emphasis on the ominous tone of the prompt and allows the reader to feel the gravity of the situation.

PLEASE HURRY!!!!!
Reika [66]

Answer:

B. A faster pace would have been more appropriate for the speech’s content and audience.

Explanation:

Mateo is speaking to the audience and refers to the audience as US indicating he is talking to fellow students about the injustice of the strict snow days.

Children are more likely to get bored listening to a talker with a professional tone or if the speaker is being more casual then the audience would think the speech is not important allowing the audience to miss the speech before it has even begun.

But by making the speech faster you are allowing the audience to begin to believe on their own about the injustice and it begins to work up their blood pressure.

Hitler was very good at getting the people to believe in what he wished because he made his speeches short and fast.

Differences between the abstract and the introduction of the scientific report
deff fn [24]

Explanation:

Think of the abstract as like a short summary of the paper. They usually preface all of the content in the paper and just talk about the findings and the study in a very broad concise sense. The introduction on the other hand is usually the very beginning of the paper and actually dives headfirst into the content with specifics.
