A person is more prone to an infection in a hospital as compared to their house as the risk of getting a disease or infection is more at a hospital. Generally a hospital is a place where various kinds of patients are treated the environment there has various kinds of infectious microbes all over thus a person staying there has more tendency to develop a disease.

Whereas on the other hand it is equally important to say that while there may be more risk of an infection the staff and other medical practitioner takes special care for hygiene and wellness of the patients.

A person's home serves as their private place with fewer people visiting and them being the only person with an infection thus chances of them getting better is much higher. But it is significant to take definite measures  to avoid any more diseases or infections.
