The Pequot War of 1637 was the conflict touched off by white settlement of the Connecticut region. This region is one of the six New England states and located in the northeastern part of United States.

This happened when the King Philip, who was the son of native chief and had made the original peace with the Pilgrims in 1621, tried to unite the Tribes of southern New England against further European invasions of their land.

The major significance of the Pequot war was the establishment of pattern for English Policy towards Natives. It was to end the Dutch domination in the region.
