Using translation concepts, we have that the table of values for the function p(x) = x - 7 is given by:

  • x = -2, p(x) = -9.
  • x = -1, p(x) = -8.
  • x = 0, p(x) = -7.
  • x = 1, p(x) = -6.
  • x = 2, p(x) = -5.

<h3>What is a translation?</h3>

A translation is represented by a change in the function graph, according to operations such as multiplication or sum/subtraction either in it’s definition or in it’s domain. Examples are shift left/right or bottom/up, vertical or horizontal stretching or compression, and reflections over the x-axis or the y-axis.

In this problem, the parent function is:

y = f(x).

A translation down 7 units is represented by a <u>subtraction by 7 </u>in the range, that is:

p(x) = f(x) - 7 = x - 7.

The numeric values to be inserted in the table are given by:

  • x = -2, p(x) = -9.
  • x = -1, p(x) = -8.
  • x = 0, p(x) = -7.
  • x = 1, p(x) = -6.
  • x = 2, p(x) = -5.

In the graph at the end of the exercise, both functions are shown.

<span>It is a line that touches only one point on the circle.  Not so:  that's a tangent line.

It is a line that joins a point on the circle with the center of the circle. Not so:  that's a radius.

It is a line that divides the circle into two equal halves.  Not so; that's a diameter.

It is a line that intersects the circle at two points.  True.</span>

Hi my name is chaitra so I have a test coming up and I'm having trouble solving three digit by three digit multiplication and tw
arlik [135]

Answer:

So 2 digit multiplication is like this

   1

  23

x 45

  -----

   115

   920

   -----

1035

first yo multiply the 5 and the 3 and then you multiply the 5 by the 2 then you will get 15 for the first and you put the 1 on top of the 1 now 5 times 2 plus 1 is 11 so yo put the 11 down at the bottom. now you put a zero at the bottom of the answer will be  23 x 45 = 1035
