It would have been a fallacy because it would contradict what is being said and argued by Allen in his editorial. Overall, it would have weakened his argument because he would be biased against those who believe in their own opinion and want to do something versus them actually committing the action.

"it would be a fallacy/error because the statement goes against what is being argued/said by Allen. His editorial would become contradictory to what he originally stated in the editorial."

2. Which sentence is punctuated correctly?
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

B. The meeting was only supposed to be for an hour; however, it ran for nearly 3 hours.

Explanation:

A semicolon is most commonly used to link (in a single sentence) two independent clauses that are closely related in thought. When a semicolon is used to join two or more ideas (parts) in a sentence, those ideas are then given equal position or rank. Use the semicolon if you have two independent clauses connected without a conjunction. Also use the semicolon when you already have commas within a sentence for smaller separations, and you need the semicolon to show bigger separations.

Which word in the passage defines sedate?
strength
active
quiet
deliberate
Vaselesa [24]

Answer:

quiet

Explanation:

The word in the passage which defines sedate is quiet.

The passage was taken from the poem "An essay on Man".

The poem "An essay on Man" was published in the year 1733-1734 by a man called Alexander Pope. Alexander Pope who lived between the year 1688-1744 was regarded and known as one of the prominent English poets and the leading poet during the early years of the eighteenth century. The poem in question was dedicated to Henry st John, The 1st Viscount Bolingbroke. This is the reason behind the opening line "Awake, St John". It is an effort to vindicate or exonerate the ways of God to Man
