Humans suffer from sleepiness ,decreased muscle activity ,and decreased sex drive during illness because they are useful ways of conserving energy while the body is attacking the illness .

Sleepiness :

It is the strong desire to fall asleep .

Sleepiness relates to the accumulation of a chemical messenger ( neurotransmitter) ,within the brain called adenosine .

If the level of adenosine is higher then the level of sleepiness will be higher .

Sleepiness may occur normally or be due to sleep disorder.

if we tired, then also we feel sleepiness.

Decreased muscle activity :

Decreased muscle activity means reducing strength of the person .it is due to also natural aging or due to disease and illness . lack of physical activity also leads to laziness which is the cause of decreased muscle activity .if we have cold symptoms then also we lack muscle activity and feel laziness.
