<h3>Answer:  AAS, which is choice B</h3>

======================================================

Reason:

We have two congruent angle pairs

The 30 degree angles

The 70 degree angles

We also have a pair of congruent sides. These sides are <u>not</u> between the angles mentioned, so we don't use ASA. Instead we go for AAS. The order is important. Both congruence theorems are similar however.

Technically if you wanted, you could find the missing third angle of each triangle, which would allow you to use ASA instead of AAS. But we'll assume that we can only use the immediate information given without further computations/algebra.

Side notes:

  • The reason why I know it's AAS instead of ASA is because I've seen this trick question many times before.
  • The missing angle is 180-(30+70) = 180-100 = 80 degrees
  • We can't use SSS because we don't have info about all three sides. The SAS rule is a similar story.

AAS is your answer because you have 30 and 70 degrees next to each other and they are both angels and then 10 which is a side
You would use AAS because that’s the pattern or your triangle

These cones are similar. find the volume of the smaller cone. round to the nearest tenth.
Kamila [148]

Answer:

Volume of the smaller cone = 8.34 cm³

Step-by-step explanation:

"If two figures are similar, their dimensions will be proportional.

Following this rule,

Ratio of the dimensions of two cones = \frac{\text{Radius of the large cone}}{\text{Radius of the small cone}}

                                                               = \frac{r_2}{r_1}

                                                               = \frac{5}{2}

                                                               = 2.5

Similarly, "ratio of the volumes of two similar figures is cube of the dimensional ratio".

Ratio of the volumes = (ratio of the dimensions)³

\frac{V_1}{V_2}=(2.5)^3

\frac{131}{V_2}=15.625

V_2=\frac{131}{15.625}

    = 8.384 cm³

    ≈ 8.4 cm³

Therefore, volume of the smaller cone is 8.4 cm³.
