A cell's internally created fuel that is responsible for powering all the other cellular functions since ATP is responsible for powering all the other cellular functions.

By adding a phosphate group to another molecule, ATP can drive cellular processes. Special enzymes are responsible for carrying out this transfer, which connects the cellular processes that need energy to the release of energy from ATP. ATP keeps our nerves firing and our heart beating. It's our body's “energy currency." It's the main energy currency not only in our cells, but in all forms of life on the planet. All cells make it (it doesn't travel from cell to cell), and they use it to power nearly all of their processes.

In the lock-and-key model of enzyme action, the enzyme active site is thought of as ________.
Aleonysh [2.5K]

Answer:

Rigid and non flexible surface

Explanation:

Enzymes are catalyst that speeds up rate of chemical reactions, they bind to a substrate which are known as reactant substrate to speed up rate of chemical reaction and to unlock the key.

The enzyme is said to be rigid and non flexible fitting perfectly to the surface of the substrate where the reaction takes place. Fitting perfectly enable the enzyme to perform its action on the substrate unlocking the key and activating the action in the molecule.

Whitepunk [10]

Answer:

food molecules become digested once there is a concentration gradient to drive diffusion, the nutrients need a path across the membrane. fats and fat soluble nutrients can move directly across the lipid membrane. water, gasses ane other very small molecules can diffuse through the pores of the cell.
