Approximately 3 shingles used to cove the area of the roof.

According to the statement

we have to find the number of shingles used to cover the roof.

So, For this purpose, we know that the

one side of the roof measures 15'x 36

And we have given that the both sides of a gable roof are the same size.

So, For this purpose,

The roof is a of a rectangle shape so,

Area of rectangle = 2(L+B)

Then

Area of rectangle = 2(L+B)

Area of rectangle = 2(15+36)

Area of rectangle = 102 ft.

Then

Area of shingles = 2(L+B)

Area of shingles = 2(16+2.5)

Area of shingles = 37

then number of shingles used = 37/102

So, Approximately 3 shingles used to cove the area of the roof.

Suppose the sediment density (g/cm) of a randomly selected specimen from a certain region is normally distributed with mean 2.65
erma4kov [3.2K]

Answer:

Probability that the sample average is at most 3.00 = 0.98030

Probability that the sample average is between 2.65 and 3.00 = 0.4803

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that the sediment density (g/cm) of a randomly selected specimen from a certain region is normally distributed with mean 2.65 and standard deviation 0.85.

Also, a random sample of 25 specimens is selected.

Let X bar = Sample average sediment density

The z score probability distribution for sample average is given by;

               Z = \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } ~ N(0,1)

where, \mu = population mean = 2.65

           \sigma  = standard deviation = 0.85

            n = sample size = 25

(a) Probability that the sample average sediment density is at most 3.00 is given by = P( X bar <= 3.00)

    P(X bar <= 3) = P( \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } <= \frac{3-2.65}{\frac{0.85}{\sqrt{25} } } ) = P(Z <= 2.06) = 0.98030

(b) Probability that sample average sediment density is between 2.65 and 3.00 is given by = P(2.65 < X bar < 3.00) = P(X bar < 3) - P(X bar <= 2.65)

P(X bar < 3) = P( \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } < \frac{3-2.65}{\frac{0.85}{\sqrt{25} } } ) = P(Z < 2.06) = 0.98030

 P(X bar <= 2.65) = P( \frac{Xbar-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } } <= \frac{2.65-2.65}{\frac{0.85}{\sqrt{25} } } ) = P(Z <= 0) = 0.5

Therefore, P(2.65 < X bar < 3)  = 0.98030 - 0.5 = 0.4803 .

Please Help!!!
myrzilka [38]

Answer:

A. principal interviewed the 25 students who scored highest on a reading test.

D. For a report on the exercise habits of adults, Sergio talked to 30 adults at a local fitness center.

E. Josh asked the first 25 people he met at the dog park if they preferred dogs or cats.

Step-by-step explanation:

Biased means if the selection of every unit does not have an equal chance of being selected in a sample.

The sample is said to be good if choosing the unit is unbiased. The sample is said to be unbiased if the selection of each unit is independent.

Option A is an example of data selected in a biased way because principal chose only those student who scored the highest marks on reading test.

Options B and C are unbiased as here a selection of each number and name of the student has an equal chance of being selected.

Option D is biased because Sergio talked adults at a local fitness center where people go for maintaining their health. So, there is a chance of the selection of fitted adults more than unfitted adults.

Option E is biased because Josh met people at the dog park where dog lovers are more than a cat lover.

How do i find y in y=mx+c if m=8 and (5,3)
Ganezh [65]

Answer:

y = 8x-37

Step-by-step explanation:

y=mx+c

We know the slope m

y=8x+c

We know a point on the line (5,3).  Substitute this in for x and y

3 = 8(5) +c

3 = 40+c

3-40 = 40+c-40

-37 =c

y = 8x-37
