The French were convinced to support the American war against the British after the Americans won the Battle of Trenton When word reached him that the British had surrendered at the Battle of Saratoga in December 1777, Vergennes finally decided to ally. Vergennes, who had heard rumors of Britain's secret peace offer to Franklin, decided not to wait for Spanish support and proposed an official French alliance with the United States.

In 1776, the Continental Congress sent diplomats Benjamin Franklin, Cyrus Dean, and Arthur Lee to establish a formal alliance with France.

The American war victory over Britain at Saratoga convinced France that the United States was committed to becoming a worthy partner for independence and a formal alliance.

What immediate and long-term effects could you envision if rainfall and drinking water suddenly became unavailable in your state
11Alexandr11 [23.1K]

Answer:

A reduction in rainfall and a dramatic water shortage would be a very difficult event for any region. In this situation, the responses would have to be institutional, social and individual.

Explanation

The institutional response is the responsability of the government. The government would have to look for new water sources, but it would also have to promote more sustainable practices in water management.

Socially and individually, people would be obliged to learn to use less water to carry out their daily activities. They would also have to understand the different mechanisms of water recycling that exist, for example, by obtaining some of the water from rainfall (although if rainfall is too low, this would not be a very effective solution).

In conclusion, the situation would be dire, and this is why people and goverments must focus on prevention of water shortages, not on relief.
