Surprise sentence as verb

English

Hello there! A sentence with a verb in it would be as follows:

I had to run so that I did not miss my bus.

The verb in this sentence would be the word “run,” because it shows an action that a person can physically perform.

An action verb is a word or phrase that shows action in what a person or object does. Given the definition, we can imply that any word that is a course of action somebody can perform is identified as a verb.

However, there are different kinds of verbs too. A linking verb is a word that links the predicate (the part of a sentence including the verb and stating what the subject does) with the subject (who or what the sentence is about). Words that are linking verbs include “like,” “be,” “is,” “are,” “was,” and “were.” A sentence containing a linking verb would look like this:

“She was so noisy, she sounded like the principal from Matilda!”

See the connection? In this sentence, the creator used the linking verb “like” to form a resemblance of the girl being loud with the principal from Matilda. Sentences with linking verbs can be effective depending on how they are used. If you need any extra help, let me know and I will gladly assist you.

Thoreau was a transcendentalist who thought that making own decisions and being self reliant was more important that following the laws of the government and it was a better plan because it was not out of compulsion but by the own will of the people.

Explanation:

Thoreau was a savant of nature and its connection to the human condition. In his initial years he followed Transcendentalism, a free and mixed dreamer theory upheld by Emerson, Fuller, and Alcott.

Transcendentalists accept that society and its organizations—especially sorted out religion and ideological groups—degenerate the immaculateness of the person. They have confidence that individuals are at their best when genuinely "confident" and autonomous. It is just from such genuine people that genuine network can shape.
