The novel gave insight about challenges faced by Native American culture at this period in American history by stating how they are facing conflict on the on resources which bring about poverty and unemployment.

As far as  1950s, Native Americans  were not in good term with the government's policy that relocate them from reservations  into cities .

There was a loss of loss of land with other difficulties as at that time,  however, The novel gave insight about challenges faced by Native American culture at this period in American history by stating how they are facing conflict on the on resources which bring about poverty and unemployment.
