While there were many other factors, threats and violence definitely were key aspects to Hitler's rise to power. His use of terror tactics made people obedient through fear. After acting upon his threats, they knew if they didn't follow him, there was a good chance they would die. He used a sort of manipulation that while brutal, tends to be effective, as portrayed through many events and leaders in history, such as the French Revolution, Mao Zedong (China), Stalin (Russia), and Leopold II (Congo).

What Nebraska politician and Democrat presidential nominee who pushed for a bimetal or silver standard? William Jennings Bryan W
deff fn [24]

Answer: William Jennings Bryan

Explanation:

William Jennings Bryan was a Nebraska politician who was nominated by his party, the Democratic party, to be their Presidential nominee in 1896 after he gave a rousing speech which today is known as the Cross of Gold speech in support of the bimetal/silver standard.

The standard called for the use of both gold and silver to back the American dollar as opposed to using just gold and was strongly supported by the lower and some middle class. The standard however would have brought high inflation as well as making it harder for the US to trade with other countries.

William Jennings lost the election and the US continued with the gold standard.

what did the jewish, mexicans, chinese italian immigrants and have to do with the rise of political machines? Who, what why, etc
snow_lady [41]
To begin with, a political machine is an organization in which an organization gains support via promising rewards to those who keep them in power. It's designed to keep a particular group in power by promising favors. Typically, immigrants who first arrived here were impoverished, so political machines became so successful because they would promise to set immigrants up with homes or jobs or food so long as they had their vote.
So in short:

Who: Organizations whose main goals were getting and keeping power.

What: They essentially bribed immigrants for their votes.

Why: Political Machines did this to stay in power.
