The relation is that A non-paying task done by an individual or group of individuals for the benefit of their community or its institutions is known as community service. Given that it is not usually done voluntarily, community service is different from volunteering.
Volunteering is essentially providing unpaid service or assistance to people (or the community) without expecting anything in return. Therefore, if you volunteer at your local animal shelter, for example, it signifies that you are prepared to do so without expecting anything in return, not even a bigger social network or more notoriety online.
Although people's views on volunteering vary, particularly in regard to the intentions behind it, more individuals feel that it should be partly required. The work exudes a feeling of necessity. Others consider it to be "punishment." Not to add that courts or schools typically allocate it. To ensure that community service does not break the law, there are a few prerequisites (as well as supporting paperwork) for individuals who want to participate.
