The Tuareg culture exhibits a combination of Islamic and pre-Islamic traditions (C). The Tuareg people are an Islamic African people. They are semi-nomadic travelling across the region looking for grazing for their animals, but they also have a homestead where they grow crops. They are best known for the practice of men veiling their faces with blue indigo cloth. They mainly live in the Sahara Desert in the modern country of Mauritania.
