At 12 pounds of shipping, the total shipping cost for both companies would be the same

What number of pounds of shipping would make the total cost of shipping be the same for both companies?

In the first place, the total cost of each company can be determined as the fixed charge plus the cost per pound of shipping multiplied by the number of pounds shipped

Total cost=fixed charge+(x*cost per pound)

Comp-U-Fast:

Total cost=4+0.75x

Megachine:

total cost=10+0.50x

For both companies to achieve the same pounds of shipping, their costs must be equated

4+0.75x=10+0.50x'

0.75x-0.50x=10-4

0.25x=6

x=6/0.25

x=12 pounds of shipping

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A circle is 360 degrees. What we are asked in words is, "How many degrees is 40% of 360?" Let x be "how many degrees"; the word "is" means =; 40% as a decimal is .4; the word of in this context means to multiply; and 360 is just 360. Putting all that together into an equation we can solve for x:

x = .4(360) so

x = 144

Adventure movies covers 144 degrees of that circle.

Answer:

B: P + 0.25 P

D : 5/4 P

Step-by-step explanation:

The price is P.

The tax is 25% of P, or 0.25P.

The total price is the price plus the tax,

P + 0.25P = P + 1/4P = 4/4P + 1/4P = 5/4P
