During prophase the mitotic spindle begins to form.

During prophase, the mitotic spindle starts to self-assemble in the cytoplasm. In contrast, all doubled homologous chromosomal pairs align along the cell's midline, between the two centrioles, during metaphase I. In anaphase, I, spindle fibers connected to the centrioles pull the homologous chromosome pairs apart and to the opposite poles of the cell.

In addition, the microtubules created by the duplicated centrosomes of animal cells are what combine to form the mitotic spindle. Also, chromatin, a combination of DNA and proteins found in the nucleus, condenses during prophase.

The development of discernible chromosomes is caused by the coiling and tightening of the chromatin. One well-organized piece of DNA makes up each chromosome.

Dolphin fins and shark fins: _________
blsea [12.9K]

Answer:

a. are probably built by different genes.

Explanation:

Although sharks and dolphins are aquatic animals belonging to the vertebrate group, sharks are fish while dolphins are mammals. Sharks belong to the class Chondrichthyes which are fish that have a cartilaginous skeleton. On the other hand, dolphins are mammals (class Mammalia) which are animals mainly characterized by the presence of mammary glands. In consequence, both species are not closely phylogenetically linked, thereby those genes involved in the development of the integumentary system (skin) in both species are expected to be different.
