How does photosynthesis vary in different seasons? Different environments?

Biology
1 answer:
slega [8]1 year ago

Plants found in cold environments have a higher amount of photosynthesis at low temperatures. Plants in warm environments, have a higher photosynthesis in high temperatures.

Photosynthesis is the process by which plants make their food from sunlight . This process is mostly dependent on sunlight so it varies from temperature and seasons. Greater light intensity leads to higher photosynthesis rates, as does increased carbon dioxide concentration.

Photosynthesis is generally higher during early summer and decline by autumn season . Temperature also plays an important role in photosynthesis as temperature increases the number of collisions increases, therefore the rate of photosynthesis also increases.

Which is a characteristic of the littoral zone of lake erie?
Lostsunrise [7]

Wide variety of fish species. It always includes this intertidal zone and is sometimes used to mean the same as the intertidal zone. Though, the meaning of "littoral zone" can be overall well beyond the intertidal zone. The littoral zone is the same as a sea, lake or river that is close to the shore. In coastal environments the littoral zone extends from the high water mark, which is very rare inundated, to shoreline areas that are permanently submerged.

In your own words, describe Crick's Central Dogma. Explain why this is an inference.
LuckyWell [14K]
Central dogma by Crick is explaining how a gene is translated. It involves transcription and translation. Transcription is copying the message of DNA to mRNA. This message is translated in the cytoplasm by ribosomes with the help of tRNA to syntheise proteins which are basis of every metabolic reactions. This is an inference based on observations. For him it was found reasonable to infer the message should be carried from DNA to cytoplasm.

Explain how the thermostat in your house uses a negative feedback system to maintain your home's temperature.
daser333 [38]

Given what we know, we can say that the home thermostat system does in fact work using a negative feedback loop,

What is a negative feedback loop?

A negative feedback loop is a regulatory system in which a product is produced until there is too much of it, the presence of this increased amount of product then acts as a stimulus to decrease the production.

The home thermostat is a negative feedback loop in that it:

 • First generates heat.
 • Then the heat reaches the desired temperature.
 • More heat is produced.
 • The thermostat notices the temperature is above the intended value.
 • It stops producing heat.

Therefore, we can confirm that since the thermostat uses a sensor to detect too much heat in the room and uses that to regulate the production of said heat, the home thermostat system does in fact work using a negative feedback loop.
