William Howard Taft-The 16th and 17th constitutional amendments, two of the most significant progressive accomplishments, were introduced by him.

Bull Moose Party- Because it stands for the progressive reforms that Roosevelt and his supporters sought but were never granted by the Republican Party, the Bull Moose Party is significant.

16th amendment- By enabling the implementation of a contemporary, federal income tax, the Sixteenth Amendment, which was ratified in 1913, was crucial in the development of the strong American federal government of the twentieth century.

The Clayton Antitrust Act- It defends various labor rights and specifies immoral company actions including price fixing and monopolies.

Seventeenth Amendment- Two senators from each state, chosen for six years by their constituents, will make up the US Senate. Each senator will have one vote.

Federal Reserve Act- In order to give the country a more secure, adaptable, and stable monetary and financial system, the Act of 1913 established the Federal Reserve System as the country's central bank.

How did Sen. Sumner almost start a war with England?
Cloud [144]

Answer:

Senator Charles Sumner, an abolitionist leader before the Civil War and a powerful foe of conciliation toward states that had seceded after the war, considered his field to be "in morals, not politics." He is best remembered for surviving an attack by Representative Preston Brooks in 1856 during which Brooks beat Sumner with a cane on the Senate floor. Brooks' attack was a sign of the increasing hostility between the North and South in the years leading up to the Civil War.
