The reason why it is important that you back up your data is that it helps to save your files especially in the case where there may be unforeseen circumstances such as deletion by mistake.

What does it mean to back up data?

The term data back up is one that has to do with the duplication of data. The reason for this is so as to allow for the retrieval of the data in situations where the loss of the original data occurred.

The reasons why you have to back uo your data has been mentioned in the explanation that is contained above. You will still have access to you useful files.

For the businesses, it may be worse if they lose files, the use of back ups helps to make sure that the files would be accessible to them still in another place and there would be no loss to the important records that have to do with the business.

To meet the 3-2-1 you have to do the following:

 • Create a primary back up and two back up copies.
 • Save backups to 2 different media types.
 • keep 1 backup file in an offline location.
