Transposition is a site-specific recombination event.

While site-specific recombination is a reaction in which DNA strands are broken and exchanged at precise places of two target DNA loci to achieve established biological function, transposition is the process by which genetic elements migrate across various locations of the genome.

Different genetic systems that typically encode their own recombination enzymes represent both types of recombination. These enzymes, also known as transposases and site-specific recombinases, can be divided into several families based on similarities in their amino acid sequences, which, in some cases, are only the catalytic signature of a few number of residues.

How long does it take for a brain aneurysm to kill?
Amanda [17]

Drs spent quite a while "chasing" it around, keeping it at bay until they found the source of the bleed. She's home now and doing well. So I can say it kills Suddenly</span>
