Angular grains in a clastic sedimentary rock indicate numerous collisions between particles during extensive transportation.

What are sedimentary rocks?

Rocks known as sedimentary rocks are created by the accumulation or deposition of mineral or organic particles at the Earth's surface, followed by cementation. The process of these particles settling in one location is known as sedimentation. Sediment is a general term for the tiny pieces that make up sedimentary rocks. They can be made of biological or geological waste (minerals) (organic matter). The geological debris was created either by the solidification of molten lava blobs that volcanoes released or by the weathering and erosion of pre-existing rocks. The agents of denudation, such as water, wind, ice, and mass movement, convey the geological debris to the site of deposition.
