If you have no experience of being bullied or insulted, you can express your understanding of the feelings of someone who has had this experience.

This person could be a friend, a family member, or even a character in a book or movie who went through this and stimulated a feeling in you.

How can you write this?

 • Show that you identify with this quote by empathizing with someone who has experienced bullying.
 • Show that you feel lucky that you never went through this, but that you understand the problems this experience presents.
 • Show how important it is to empathize with someone who has gone through this experience even if you haven't.

An example of how you might write your answer can be seen below:

I relate to this quote because I know the feeling of going through intimidating situations, even though I've never had that experience. My knowledge of this may be limited, but when I heard from a friend about his experience of going through a time of bullying, I felt sad, scared, and ashamed. At that moment, I realized that my feelings were shallow and yet very painful, which made me realize that these feelings are much worse and deeper for those who went through this situation.
