In the picture up top, Seminoles are clothed in outfits resembling those of early white settlers. Assimilation can be seen happening in this picture.

What is Seminole?

During the 18th century, the Seminole tribe of Native Americans flourished in Florida. The Seminole Nation of Oklahoma, Seminole Tribe of Florida, and Miccosukee Tribe of Indians of Florida are three federally recognized tribes that they currently belong to, along with other autonomous organizations.

They currently reside in Oklahoma and Florida. In a process known as ethnogenesis, the Seminole people developed from different Native American tribes that arrived in Spanish Florida at the beginning of the 1700s. Of them, the northern Muscogee Creeks from what is now Georgia and Alabama were particularly influential.
