The Mississippi River will serve as the United States western border, according to the Treaty of Paris, which served as the final agreement.

What was the Paris Treaty and what did it contain?

With the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1763, the French and Indian War/Seven Years' War between Great Britain and France and their respective allies came to an end. In accordance with the terms of the treaty, France ceded all of its possessions in North America's main landmass, effectively putting an end to any potential military threat to the British colonies there.

British forces had defeated France in important overseas battles during the conflict. In addition to taking control of French Canada, the British also triumphed in India and captured French island colonies in the Caribbean. French King Louis XV made a formal request for negotiations in March of 1762.
