Different reactions from Great Britain influenced the desire of colonists to declare the independence of the country.

To some extent, colonists believed that British citizens and government unfairly treated colonists. The events followed after the firing of American volley revolution at Lexington and in Massachusetts. These marked expansions of ideological differences which encouraged the intervention of other countries like France. Introduction of taxation marked another drawback for colonists. The tax law attracted major revolt from Britons, thus depriving the colonists’ revenue to run the colony. Increased oppression to Britons attracted major resistance forming shadow revolutionary government operations. As a result, it increased British militia activities overcoming the colonial authority. Changes of events led to colonists declaring the independence of Great Britain.
