There are two possible structures for the argumentative essay.

  1. The first approach is to develop all of your own arguments before challenging and defeating those of your adversary.
  2. The second strategy is to take each of your opponent's arguments and disprove it on its own. The second model gives equal weight to your arguments and those of your opponent, so your refutations must be especially potent to outweigh theirs.

How to Organize an Argumentative Essay

  • Introduction
  • Body paragraphs that support the thesis
  • Rebuttal paragraph/s
  • Conclusion

Your introduction is where you lay out your argument for the reader to understand. It also establishes how the remainder of your essay will be structured. A strong beginning is a key component of every essay.

Your argumentative essay's thesis statement is the final phrase. Your opinion on the major subject of your essay or paper serves as the thesis statement. An argumentative essay's body is divided into two sections: Paragraphs that support your position and one or two rebuttal paragraphs.

A rebuttal paragraph is important because it shows you considered two sides of an issue. You considered the other viewpoint, did some research, and produced a counterargument. This is a critical section of any argumentative essay because it is here that you dismiss the objections of other people.

Your conclusion should show readers what you proved and why your thesis matters.

Mars2501 [29]

Some positive effects are: it enhances learning skills and recognize emotions; and the negative effects are it leads to violence, behave aggressively and lastly, it leads to emotional problems. These effects include obesity, language delays, and learning disabilities. Physical inactivity while viewing TV reduces necessary exercise and leads to over-eating.
