Longer phrases and paragraphs used in detailed descriptions sluggish the flow. This format is used across several full novels, which uses pace to add calm and depth to the reader's experience.

How do you describe the pace of a story ?

Pace, often known as pacing, in literature refers to the speed at which a tale is delivered, not necessarily the speed at which the story actually occurs. The amount of words required to describe a specific event relies on the significance of that point in the tale, not how long it takes for the event to occur. The length of the scenes, the speed at which the action unfolds, and the speed at which the reader is given information all affect the pace. A story's type can also influence how quickly it moves: comedy go more quickly than tragedies, while action adventures move more quickly than suspense stories.

Many books that are rejected by publishers and those that are published but do not make their way into readers' hearts and recommendations have a plodding pace. Slow-moving manuscripts typically deter readers from continuing to read.

"Surely they are but the vagaries of mine own imagination."
Kipish [7]

Answer: Wanderings

Explanation:

“Surely they are but the vagaries of mine own imagination."

The most likely meaning of vagaries in the sentence above is “ wanderings”.

The dictionary meaning of vagaries is; “an unexpected and inexplicable change in a situation”.

The dictionary meaning of wandering is; “leisurely, aimless and pointless travel or movement “.

“Wandering” best replaces the word vagaries because one’s imagination can wander and travel leisurely picturing different thoughts and scenarios.

The sentence can be rewritten as;

“Surely they are but the wanderings of mine own imagination."
