The aspect of Greek life that this excerpt reveals is:

 • That people gave gifts to the woman getting married

What aspect of Greek life is presented in the excerpt?

The aspect of Greek life that a person can see from the excerpt is that people presented gifts to the couple during a marriage ceremony. It was regarded as a customary act for guests to present a gift to the bride-to-be. All the guests who were invited to the wedding heeded this customary act except Perseus.

Even in present times, it is not unfounded for people to present gifts to a woman who is about to be married. It shows that they care for the woman and wish her well on her future marital journey.

Gifts are expressions of love and good wishes for a person. The Greek culture encouraged hospitality and kindness and this is why it was normal for invitees to present a gift to the new couple.

Why is the relationship between "genius and drill," as emerson explains it, paradoxical (para. 3)?
bogdanovich [222]

When we consider someone as being a genius, we have the idea that this person has a superior intelligence and is very good at perfoming some tasks, and the fact that they still need to practice and exercise regularly may seem a paradox. But the genius is only the inicial part, which needs to be followed by the drill in order to attain excellence.
