In addition to founding her convent, she also invented her own language and one of the earliest musical dramas. In the High Middle Ages, Hildegard of Bingen—also known as Saint Hildegard and the Sibyl of the Rhine—was a German Benedictine abbess who was an accomplished writer, composer, philosopher, mystic, and visionary. She also wrote and practiced medicine.
