We begin by rearranging the triangles.

In the first triangle:

x+66+90=180

x+156=180

x=180-156

x=24

In the second triangle

y+90+24=180

y+114=180

y=180-114

y=66

Note: Similar triangles are the same shape, but not necessarily the same size.

We see that the angles in both triangles are exactly the same.

We conclude that the triangles are similar.

94 POINTS! MATH

Each answer is either a < > + or NC
BabaBlast [244]

Answer:

1) ST > MN

2) BA > BC

3) angle A > angle F

4) angle L < angle R

Step-by-step explanation:

In all cases the sides adjacent to the specified angle are unchanged in both triangles.

Decreasing the angle decreases the opposite side.

Decreasing the opposite side decreases the angle.

For item 2, the triangles are ADB and CDB.

When Megan solved this system using the elimination method , she added the equations together and got the equation 4y = 16. Then
weqwewe [10]

Answer:

Megan added the equations together but she subtract 4 instead of addition of 4. The correct solution is (1,6).

Step-by-step explanation:

The given equations are

2x+3y=20        ...(1)

-2x+y=4            .... (2)

Add both equations to eliminate x.

2x+3y-2x+y=20+4

4y=24

Megan make a mistake in this step. She added the equations together but she subtract 4 instead of addition of 4.

Divide both sides by 4.

y=6

Put this value in equation (1).

2x+3(6)=20

2x+18=20

2x=2

Divide both sides by 2.

x=1

Therefore the correct solution is (1,6).

2. Given R (6, -2) and S (8, 12), find the midpoint of RS.
Ne4ueva [31]

Answer:

You need to find the slope of the two points given, then you need to add or subtract (depending on if the slope is increasing or decreasing). Once you find the slope add or subtract the answer onto R or S.

Step-by-step explanation:
