United states of America, had made a major change in its telecommunications policy in 1996, first time after 1934,

It is because, for the first time Internet had became a part of the broadcasting and spectrum allotment.

Thus, they aimed at, by this bill, deregulating the converging markets of Broadcasting and Telecommunications.

Their main stress was upon breaking the regulatory barriers and opening up the market to accelerate the private sector by providing competition.

It also had some criticism as, Ralph Nader, an activist had argued that, and called it a example of political corruption as it is giving away licenses to formal broadcasters.

also, Robert Crandell also had argued upon its economic value.
