The Edict of Milan was passed in 313 CE, an agreement between the western roman emperor and the eastern roman emperor.

The Edict of Milan was the agreement issued by the western roman emperor Constantine and the eastern roman emperor Licinius. The agreement was a peace treaty to change the policy of the roman empire toward Christianity. The emperor converted to Christianity and gave legal status to Christians in the roman empire.

Later after 10 years, Christianity was adopted as the state religion. The historical aversion to Christianity and Christians in the roman empire has come to an end.

The Edict proclaimed peace and tolerance toward the Christians but not an agreement to adopt Christianity as the state religion.
