the washwoman is about a woman who has a strong work ethic and puts her all into things when shes young, and when she gets older, she still puts her all into things without asking for anything in return. its an act of kindness and she finds fulfillment in it as she believes its her duty. shes very dedicated in her her wok and she finds it important to finish what she starts. at the beginning of the story, she feels lonely because her son has abandoned her, and she is more than happy to talk to anyone who she may meet throughout the story, however, she doents want to be a burden to anyone, which is most of the reason that she finds it necessary to help people and do things without asking for payment.
