The correct answer is D) the Social Darwinism movement.

The Social Darwinism movement was the basis for what is known today as the field of social work.

Social Darwinism wanted to prove the superiority of Anglo-Saxons over other races. The supporters of this way of thinking considered the assumption that white Northern Europeans were superior to all other groups. The supporters of Social Darwinism did not approve the government programs directed to help the ones in need, considered that the poor were born to be poor in this life as a natural condition.

Due to the problems it generated, caused much affliction and a social response. That is why, through the years, the field of social work was generated.

By those years there was a rich man who had intentions to help the poor. His name was Andrew Carnegie. He wrote an essay named “The Gospel of Wealth”, where he mentioned that wealthy men should create philanthropic projects to benefit the poor people. The intention of Carnegie was to change the ideas of Social Darwinism.

Give one reason why people are racist.
Ivanshal [37]

Answer:

People might be racist because they don’t feel comfortable around another race because they have never talked to someone of that origin so instead of trying to come up with a conversation they find it easier to make fun of them. I think racism is a problem because it doesn’t let people fully speak with one another clearly.

LenKa [72]

Answer:

Separation and independence from Spain

Explanation:

The goal of the Latin American revolutions was precisely to gain independence from Spain.

This goal was achieved for all Latin American countries except for Cuba and Puerto Rico.

In South America, Simon Bolívar and San Martín liberated a share of countries, while independence for Mexico (New Spain) and Perú was more difficult because both countries were the most important Spanish colonies of the time.
