What is the sign? Thank you
Kay [80]

For simplicity, disregard the fractions.  Then you have 48 + (- 39), since opposite signs change into a negative sign, you have 48 - 39.  What is the answer?

POSITIVE

I need the answers to 5&6 explain how you found the answer and I'll give brainliest
ch4aika [34]
I found the answer to 5, but I couldn't see the rest of worksheet to solve 6 thoroughly.

Both of these problems can be solved through substitution using the variables that you know equal a number.

For example #5: 5(3)(3)-7(3)+4
45-21= 24, and 24+8=28

That is how you solve number 5 and can also solve 6 the same way using the same method.

angle A and angle B are complementary angles. If m angle A = (4x – 28)° And angle B = (4x - 8)°, then find the measure of A.
Flura [38]

Complementary angles have a submission of 90 degrees thus :

angle \:  \: A + angle \:  \: B = 90°

(4x - 28)° + (4x - 8)° = 90°

4x + 4x - 28 - 8 = 90

Collect like terms

8x - 36 = 90

Add both sides 36

8x - 36 + 36 = 90 + 36

8x = 126

Divide both sides by 8

\frac{8x}{8}  =  \frac{126}{8}  \\

x = 15.75

_____________________________________________

Now let's find the measure of A :

A = 4x - 28

A = 4 \times (15.75) - 28

A = 63 - 28

A = 35°

And we're done...

Verify the identity: cot^3t/csct = cost(csc^2t-1)
cestrela7 [59]
We know that cot = cos/sin
then cot^3 = cos^3 / sin ^3
we also know that csc = 1/sin
then 1/csc = sin
cot^3t/csct =(cos^3t / sin^3t) * sint =cos^3t / sin^2t
1+cot^2 = csc^2
csc^2 -1 = cot^2
cost(csc^2t-1) =cost(cot^2t)
cost( cos^2t/sin^2t) =cos^3t/sin^2t
It implies that both sides are equal

hope it helps
