When the settlers came to America, they did not know how to survive in the New World. The Native Indians helped the settlers by teaching them how to cultivate and to gather foods.

As the settlers started to grow in the colonies, they started taking much of the land of the Indians. The settlers developed a new attitude toward them and called the Native Indians not worthy of the fertile land.  Most of the Indians did not like it and raided the colonies frequently, which angered the colonist in Virginia during the early 1600s.
