Frequently, writers of an era define for other writers what is most significant and promotional of what makes the literature of now different from earlier literature.
Post-modern literature was stylized with multiple points of view, stream of conciousness, technology, larger world view including more culture, a more positive world view, use of an unreliable narrator, etc.

I do believe that literature has changed from post-modern literature in a number of ways:
- Commentary about literature in the literature via footnotes, and other syntactical units
- Greater incorporation of social sciences especially anthropological and psychological views
